David serves as TowerPoint’s Chief Legal Officer, where he leads the firm’s legal and compliance strategy. Prior to TowerPoint, David served as Chief Legal Officer – Private Strategies at Angel Oak Capital Advisors, where he also held the role of Corporate Secretary for Angel Oak Mortgage REIT (NYSE: AOMR). In those positions, he directed legal oversight for corporate governance, public company SEC reporting, REIT structuring, fund formation and growth, asset securitization, and business operations. David previously served as Corporate Counsel at a subprime lender and worked in private practice representing clients in complex bankruptcy and litigation matters.

David holds a J.D. from Emory University School of Law, where he earned a Certificate in Transactional Law and published work focused on bankruptcy law. He also received a B.B.A. in Economics from the University of Georgia. He is admitted to the Georgia State Bar.
