Jesse M Wellner - CEO

Jesse M. Wellner

Chief Executive Officer

Wellner is an industry veteran with over a decade of experience investing in and managing Telecommunications Infrastructure related assets.  Since joining TowerPoint in 2009, Wellner has led TowerPoint’s origination platform and strategic business development initiatives.  During his tenure, Wellner has directed a series of highly successful capital markets initiatives, raising both institutional equity and debt for TowerPoint’s operations and acquisitions. By emphasizing value creation for our landlord and corporate partners, Wellner has been a driving force behind TowerPoint’s growth.

Wellner has been an entrepreneur and operator in several business sectors, including wireless telecommunications infrastructure, real estate, and software. Since 1996, he has executed transactions in excess of $500 million. He was a principal and founder of The Well Street Group (WSG), a holding company with significant interests in commercial and residential real estate, as well as outdoor advertising assets. While at WSG, Jesse acted as lead adviser on the conveyance of more than $50 million in domestic and international wireless communications towers. From 2003 to 2007, he was a Senior Director of Acquisitions for Unison Site Management where he was responsible for the aggregation of wireless infrastructure ground leases across the United States.

Jesse received his B.S. in Political Science from the University of Arizona.

Interests: Besides being an accomplished triathlete/cyclist, Jesse is also an avid surfer and supporter of various philanthropic organizations.

John F Gutowski

John F. Gutowski

Chief Operating Officer

John has served as TowerPoint’s Chief Operating Officer since the company’s inception in 2007. He has helped guide TowerPoint through its early development and has also worked on the securing of a credit facility for acquisitions, profitable asset sales, and successful recapitalization of the platform for continued growth.

As part of his role, John has senior oversight for the operational departments of the company, including credit, processing, portfolio administration and accounting, and finance. By collaborating with the senior managers of the legal and information groups, he helps implement processes that increase efficiency and productivity, ensure quality control, and bolster TowerPoint’s new business development efforts. 

Previously, John acted as Vice President and Manager of the Asset-Backed Lending Division of GMAC Commercial Mortgage Corporation. In this position, he was primarily responsible for the Franchise Servicing and Asset Management Group Operations. He also directed the underwriting and closing functions for the Equipment Finance and Franchise Mortgage lending units. 

John received his B.S. in Business Administration from Bryant College.

Interests: When he’s not on a long walk with the family dog (Lucy), John can be found hiking the trails of North Georgia and the Great Smoky Mountains, reading a good book, or singing bass in his church choir.

Jon L Lober - General Counsel

Jon L. Lober

General Counsel

Jon leads the TowerPoint legal team and oversees all of the legal affairs of the company.  His principal areas of focus are asset acquisitions, commercial real estate finance, and providing strategic advice to the management team and the board of directors. Prior to joining the company in August 2007, Jon was legal counsel to a Fortune 1000 corporation that increased its national retail footprint during his tenure by 25 percent through acquisitions and new-store development. Before serving as corporate counsel, he worked at a Midtown Atlanta commercial real estate law firm focusing on commercial real estate finance, acquisitions, and litigation. As a former prosecutor, Jon has proven trial experience. Jon also serves as Board President for the Georgia Law Center for the Homeless, providing civil legal services to homeless individuals.

Jon earned his J.D. from the Levin College of Law at the University of Florida, where he also graduated with a B.A., cum laude, in political science.

Interests: Both Jon and his family enjoy hiking, gardening, live music, and biking through Georgia’s trail systems.

Dustin Cahill

Dustin Cahill

Executive Vice President Acquisitions

Dustin has more than 12 years of experience in financial services, real estate, and telecommunications and has acquired more than $95 million of existing wireless lease assets. Prior to joining TowerPoint Capital, Dustin founded and owned Asset Capital Partners, an exclusive ground lease originations unit of Communications Capital Group, LLC. Dustin also served as the National Sales Manager for a wireless lease optimization company, in this role he was responsible for managing top-performing origination teams that collectively completed over $250 million in rent savings for US telecommunications carriers. Dustin’s in-depth knowledge of lease acquisitions, lease optimization, and financial services gives him a unique advantage in serving the needs of his clients.

Dustin earned his BA in Finance and Business Administration from Northern Kentucky University.

Interests: Dustin has a passion for many sports including snowboarding, basketball, surfing, motor sports, and hiking. Dustin resides in San Diego with his wife.
